PATS PEAK PATROL SENDS YOUNG ADULT PATROLLERS TO THE EASTERN DIVISION YOUNG ADULT SEMINAR 2023
Henniker, NH, March 18, 2023 - Pats Peak, New Hampshire's premier snowsports destination, is proud to announce that Young Adult Patrollers from Pats Peak attended the Eastern Division Young Adult Seminar.
The Young Adult Patrollers (YAP) from Eastern Division ascended on Smugglers Notch, VT for a summit gathering March 10 - 13, 2023. Young Adult Patrollers are aged 15 to 18, currently enrolled in high school and affiliated with a mountain ski patrol. There were 70 YAPs in attendance from as far away as Western PA and NY and Northern ME.
Pats Peak was represented by six attendees at the event. The weekend activities included skiing skills, tobogganing skills, and outdoor emergency care skills. They had the ability to compete or enhance their skills with in each activity.
“We are proud of our YAPs, all of whom had an amazing weekend with their peers, learning, sharpening and challenging their patroller skills,” says Mark Kendrick, NH Region YAP Advisor.
Although the event is held annually, this is the first time it has been held since 2020, when the event had to be cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This event is sponsored by a host of equipment and gear manufacturers and retailers. YAPs in attendance had an opportunity to receive free gear from these sponsors.
“We are looking forward to sending our YAPs to the event again next year. In the meantime, look for them on the mountain, doing an amazing job with the Pats Peak Patrol,” says Pats Peak Ski Patrol Director, Stef Costello.

About Pats Peak Patrol:
The Pats Peak Patrol work to keep the public safe on the mountain. You will find them patrolling the mountain from open to close, seven days a week, during ski season. Regardless of conditions, they are out on the mountain inspecting equipment, checking snow and grooming conditions, looking for hazards, helping injured patrons, and promoting safe skiing and riding. All of Pats Peak Patrollers are members of the National Ski Patrol. They receive extensive training in Outdoor Emergency Care, a specialized form of First Aid similar to Emergency Medical Technician training, but with special emphasis on outdoor sports injuries. Many of our Patrollers are also certified Emergency Medical Technicians, Nurses, or Doctors.
